An Incredible Fantasy Adventure of
Massive Proportions
Shattered trust, murdered innocence and dark pacts have
plunged the Kingdom of Pentari in chaos.
Rogue wizards have captured the city of Delphin and hold
kingdom nobles prisoner. They conspire to overthrow the Kingdom itself but
they won't stop there. You are sent into the turmoil to strive against
unknown foes and dangers as you re-take the city and restore order.
First Light delivers a gargantuan adventure; you have nearly 300 locations to explore including a
city to be searched, an underground complex to explore, as well as monsters
and wizards to contend with. The friendly folks you'll meet can be a handful
too!
Pentari: First Light is multi-faceted; this isn't simply a
gather-the-treasures and solve-the-puzzles text adventure. Why is that?

it is in a nutshell: Infocom's Zork is a legendary game that set the
standard for computer games and was every fantasy adventure fan's dream come true. Thanks to breakthrough technology, Malinche has set
the new standard in a profound way.
Zork 1 had 110 rooms. Zork 2 just 86. Zork 3 topped it off with
89. All told that's 285 locations spanning three games.
With 276 different areas to explore in Pentari: First Light,
we're just nine rooms shy. But then you need to factor in the twenty or so
different characters in First Light which is roughly twice as many as the whole
Zork series put together. Then consider that First Light has a spell-casting
system just like the one found in the Enchanter series but not found in any of the Zorks. Then
take into account all of the extensive detail in every facet of First Light that
the guys at Infocom just couldn't fit in their games. It wasn't their
fault. That's because back then, computer
memory was measured in KILObytes...not today's MEGAbytes.
Should we stop there? Not a chance. First Light has other magical
artifacts including three orbs of power, spell scrolls and other items of
staggering power, loads of creatures to be vanquished and truckloads of puzzles to
solve.

existed back then.
